The Red Sox have agreed to a multi-year deal with utility player Kiké Hernandez, according to a report from MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. On Thursday, reported that Boston was in talks with Hernandez and that things were heating up between the sides. Kike Hernández and Boston reached a two-season deal for $ 14 million.
Hernandez, 29, has spent the last six seasons in Los Angeles, appearing at every position except catcher. Primarily a second baseman and outfielder, the Puerto Rico native made 48 appearances in 2020, hitting .230 with five homers and a .680 OPS for the World Series champions.
