Kelvin Maldonado Selected by the Chicago White Sox for the MLB
Shortstop (SS) Kelvin Maldonado, a young Elizabethan saint, was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the MLB Draft. Nick Hostetler said that eleventh round pick Kelvin Maldonado was the White Sox 'primary target today. He described the high school senior as a plus runner.
Maldonado is a six foot, 160 pound average infielder. He is 18 years old and resides in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. It comes from the headquarters of Pro Baseball H.S. and Academy.
Maldonado is a right-handed hitter who will obviously have to add strength at 160 pounds. Look at his athleticism and defense as you watch his arm strength and his quick release, which is good enough to stay at shortstop. His entire focus on the plate must surely improve as time goes by since Perfect Game said that his bat will need work, however, he is barely 18 years old and will surely continue training until he achieves a better batting.
